Re: How do I resolve my .local site

Hello,

From what you have said, all you need to do it run the CEICW wizard.

If you have or obtain a static IP address from your ISP, register a
domain name on the internet, ask your internet provider to look after
your DNS (or pay them) and ask them to add the MX record (and other
records if you have a website somewhere) to point to your Static ip
(Which it looks like you have done) , all you then need to do it rerun
the CEICW wizard from the todo list and when it gets to the certificate
part, give it the DNS name you want to use (Most easily it is the MX
record i.e Mail.companyname.com) create a certificate with this name.
When it gets to the Exchange email domain, select to use companyname.com
and then finish the wizard.

This wizard will take care of DNS, address in Exchange and the Active
directory and allow email to come in for that domain.

If the pupose of this is to allow email to flow, don't forget to allow
port 25 through on your router and firewall.

The firewall open in Windows is easy as it is also a part of the CEICW
wizard.

Netsol can keep your www address pointing to your website and point the
MX directly to you, as long as the server will allow port 25 through and
knows about the domain.

now you can resolve mail on port 25 from the internet.

I would also suggest allowing the other SBS standard ports through for
RWW access and VPN etc. These are also listed in the CEICW wizard.

They are essentially ports 4125 (rww), 443 (https), 444 (companyweb) ,25
(smtp) , 1723 (vpn).

If you want to use external pop, you can also allow 110 and remote
desktop is 3389.

I have NetSol hosting my .com website

I changed my MX record with NetSol to my local SBS server, I Outlook
works fine.

How do I get my .local SBS server to resolve over the Internet? I still
want NetSol to host my website.

Thanks,
