Re: Windows Firewall Greyed Out

Gracias. I just responed about the same time as you saying I eventually
found it on the SBS server. However, I am curious as to why on my
workstation, even though it was on and greyed out, the service was stopped
and disabled - I have since changed that to be on and auto.

Are you sure that in the Group Policy Management Console, you don't see a
policy called "Small Business Server Windows Firewall?" The fact that the
firewall settings can not be changed, and that you're seeing the "domain
profile," seems to indicate that this policy is being applied correctly.

If you don't see the policy, on the desktop PC, go to Start -> Run and
type in "rsop.msc" without the quotes. That'll give you a result showing
all the policies applied on the PC, along with where they're applied from.
Navigate to the firewall settings to see where the policy applied from.
(Firewall is under Computer | Administrative Templates | Network | Network
Connections.

Hi, My Windows Firewall options to turn off or on are greyed out and I've
checked local and domain policies and none of these are configured but
the firewall says "Windows Firewall is using your domain settings" I've
gone to the SBS 2003 server and there is no settings in group policy,
also there is no policy settings set on local machine either. The
firewall is on it says but greyed out. The security center service was
set to disabled and stopped. So I reset that to automatic and started it
but still no change.

Help!
