I am running a recently instlaled SBS2k3 R2 with IMF v2 on and GFI ME
12. The spam blocks have working great, but with one anomoly. Since it
went online, I've been noticing a few (20-30) e-mails stuck in queue.
They are generally all spam e-mails and in the error message in the
queue is:
"The remote server did not respont to a connection request. "
When I open the mail in the queu folder, I notice two things:
a) The original Message is a spam to an existing account that sends and
recieves emails just fine.
b) The NDR is because of:
The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this
message
was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient
directly to find out the correct address.
So I am confused as to why I am getting this. I have filter recipients
that are not in Active Directory checked on. I know i can turn off NDRs
but do not necessarily want to do so. So why is my server sending NDR
to a spam email(which probably does not exist) when the user exists.
