Thanks to everyone who replied so quickly. Something obviously did not go
right the first time around. By backing out and applying the account changes
all now seems to be working.
The My Documents issue was an oversight on my part. I neglected to add the
new user to security permissions.
Thanks again everyone.

I've seen this error. Are there some mapi errors on the Exchange server.
also?
If so, check the client for a 3rd party software that might be making
excessive mapi calls. In my case it was the MS BCM (so not-so 3rd party)
that was trying to do something with the mailbox contacts.

SBS 2003, xp Pro Client. Over the weekend I added a new user via AD to
SBS
2003 Server. User has an exchange mailbox. I then modified Outlook on
the
xp system to access the new user's mailbox. All worked fine. I also
added a
passport account using the control panel link. Passport is set up using
the
user's domain email and a password that is different then that used in AD.
Set up for MSN Messenger worked fine as well. The problem is this morning
this user's system cannot make network connections to the server via word,
explorer or any other mapped network drive. I receive a message stating
there are too many connections.
This person logs on to the system as another user (someone who has left
the
company). Only Outlook is set up using the new username/password and
messenger and is still working fine. Messenger used to be signed in as
the
prior user.
Also,
- When I open explorer I receive a message stating \servername\name of
prior userMy Documents is not available.
- I ran netstat. Initially there were 10 connections with 4 in a
time_wait. Eventually, those dropped off leaving only 6 active
connections
but the issue remained.
Please help. This is a small shop and very upset since they have no
alternative system for this person.
Thanks very much.
