Re: 550 relaying mail error

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Thanks Maxibo,

I think the issue could be the rDNS (reverese lookup) apparently this is now
being required, could you explain exactly what this means and what I can do
to ensure that we have it. all our domains are currently hosted at by Verio.

Thanks,

Clare

Hi Clare

I asked who optoline was as I looked it up in IE and no page came up, but it
is now... not very helpful / userfriendly their site...lol

Your error could be your ISP not allowing DNS to be used or optoline not
accepting email from your domain. We in the uk are experiancing ISPs require
rDNS (reverese lookup)

If your ISP is not letting you send you may have to use their smart host
(ISP SMTP server, normally requiring authentification) and then your Domain
has to be authorised... its a nightmare here in the UK

Some changes on your server recently?

1. Could you send to optoline before ?
2. Have you discussed this with your ISP?
3. Would of liked to refer to optoline FAQ but they dont seem to have one.

No server has been up and running smoothly for a year.

email sent using DNS

optoline.net is part of a client email address, they are an ISP

Hi Claire

Have you just set server up ?

How are you sending email via DNS or through your ISPs 'smart host', if
the
latter do you need authentification.

Whois optoline.net...is that your domain ?
