These are hard-wired connection and not wireless, right?
Have you tried disabling OneCare?
Does Roaming Profiles work for any user?
What procedure did you follow to set up roaming profiles on the server?

I have neither on the server, and I have Windows OneCare on the client
machines for basic firewall, but it doesn't initialize until after the
user
has logged on. (When the user logs on for the first time, it is configured
for that user.)
Have any other brilliant ideas? ;)
Thanks!

Clutching at a few straws here...
Do you have any personal firewalls on the clients (or do you have
Trendmicro
CSM for SMB 3.0 installed on the server)?

Hi,
I am running Windows SBS 2003 with XP Pro machines on my network. When
my
users log onto their computers they receive the following:
"Windows cannot locate the server copy of your roaming profile and is
attempting to log you on with your local profile. Changes to the
profile
will
not be copied to the server when you logoff. Possible causes of this
error
include network problems or insufficient security rights. If this
problem
persists, contact your network administrator.
DETAIL - Access is denied. "
I've gone over the steps as described in Lanwench's boilerplate (in a
similar thread) and this has not solved my problem. I would think there
is
some kind of permision problem, but if I browse to the user's roaming
profile
folder when logged on as them, I can browse and open anything in their
folder. The user, administrators, and system all have full control of
the
folder. I've made sure that the ADUC has the right path for roaming
profiles
on each user. In share permissions on the root folder of
roamingprofiles$
the
"everyone" group is set for full control. I am baffled! Everything
looks
right, but it still acts like there is a permission problem.
Any ideas?
.
