Re: Same user logs on 2 times resulting in 2 sessions !

Hello,

If these two "sessions" are both logged onto the SBS domain and using
Exchange for their email, the appointments are ultimately made on the
server, not the client (Unless the user has a PST file). This means you
are likely suffering from offline caching. It is possible the
appointment is still in the local outlook cache and has not syncronised.
To test this, go to the first PC, make an appointment, press F9, let
everything syncronize. Go to the second PC, log onto Outlook, press F9.
See if the appointment appears.

If this is the issue, if the machines are not laptops and not likely to
be used offline, consider turning off offline caching of the email mail
boxes under the Exchange account properties in Outlook.

Thanks

Hi,

we have SBS2003 running together with about 10 xp clients.
One of our users frequently has to leave his general desk to have sales
contacts with customers.
In most of the time he forgets to logoff his own computer (session 1) and
then logs onto the computer in the sales room with the same user/credentials
(session 2).
What happens apparently is that SBS2003 creates 2 sessions for the same user.
This is not that big a problem but in this situation one major problem
arises with outlook/exchange. Suppose this user creates an appointment in
outlook in session 2. Afterwards he logoffs from this computer. Goes back to
his personal desk, the earlier created appointment is NOT visible in his
outlook at that computer.
Even a logoff/logon on his personal computer does not cure the problem.

Now my question: is there a way to force that one user can only have 1
session at all times? So, when he logs on in the sales room, his open
session at his personal desk is ended first before the second session is
started?
Maybe other solutions?
