Re: Any special considerations RPC over HTTP?

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

We get so used to the wizards that we sometimes forget the manual
stuff.

It's not really a wizard issue. I've just never set up RPC over HTTP access
to a non-SBS box yet - so although I've read about it I wasn't thinking
about it thoroughly :)

When you do it on a non-SBS Exchange server, you have to configure
all that stuff manually in the registry.

Ah yes. I was confused - thought he was talking about doing this in
the firewall. Thanks!

I am pulling my brains out getting RPC over HTTP/S working on an
SBS 2003 SP1 network. I have covered all my bases, double
checked every component, but I continue to get the message
'Exchange Server is unavailable'
My office has Server 2003 and Exchange Server 2003 and I had no
problems getting RPC over HTTP/S working. I was wondering if
there were any special security considerations inherent with SBS
that might be hindering the process?

The certificate works, I can go to https://mail.mydomain.com/rpc
and accept the certificate

Did you install it wen prompted?

and get a 401.3 ACL error. OWA access works
fine using the same credentials. The ports (6110 - 6002, 6004)
have all been changed.

Why are you mentioning those ports? All you need inbound is 443.

Any ideas?
