Hi Steve
We have a static ip address but email is recieved using POP
Our domain and internet are both with BT
Aparently BT can setup somthing called reverse DNS free of charge, looks to
be useful but I don't know exactly what this will do or if it will help, I am
still awaiting a reply from thier tech support
I need a DNS for Dummies book
Cheers

Do you have a registered domain name? If so you can setup your DNS host.
records with an A record that points to your external IP (static?) and that
will be used for your FQDN in the CEICW certificate generation and then what
you use to access from the outside. You probably already have one if you're
using SMTP for incoming mail (something like mail.mydomain.com). Once you've
run the CEICW and generated the certificate with that name you then follow
the steps shown in the link on the RWW page to Outlook over the internet and
you'll have the RPC/HTTP setup on those remote users laptops. Not sure about
what's happening with the Yahoo mail but maybe will resolve itself if you
make this switch away from forwarding.

Cheers Steve
I have looked into this RPC/HTTP and definatly seems the way to go
I have managed to get OWA to work by forwarding port 443, seems to be all
setup by default, however I can't get Outlook to work, I suspect this may
be
either due to lots of pop ups about certificates or the fact that the OWA
address is https://ip address/exchange
How do I get a nice FQDN like in the tecnet guides
Still would like to know why Yahoo mail won't forward
Cheers

Why not simplify and use Outlook 2003 downloading directly from Exchange
via
RPC/HTTP on the laptops? One of the nice features that SBS 2003 sets up
for
you.

I have a SBS 2003 Exchange Server which recieves mail
Two of the users have have thier mail forwarded using delivery options
to
seperate pop accounts for downloading onto thier laptops.
I have noticed that not all email is succesfully forwarded
This seems to be specific to the original source
for example, mail from any Yahoo account
This generates a NDR 5.6.1 error
Is this due to Exchange or the SMTP server that is being used for
forwarding?
Is there a better way to do this?
Cheers
Brian
