Thanks for responding. The answer is Yes:
1/ Domain Users
2/ Named Users with alternative permissions
3/ All NIC have File and Printer Sharing, Auto DNS and WINS etc
One interesting extra I have noticed on a client is that a single click on
"My Network Places" shows an icon and details of the Router Netgear DG834PN.
This may have some bearing as to why the computers are not communicating
properly.

YES The server was a complete rebuild - Formatting the RAID pair and a
install of SBS 2003 (Dell Set) plus the OpenManage setup.the
Essentially everything is fine except:
1/ Explorer on the Server can see the clients but cannot expand to see
shared folders.
2/ All Clients can see the server and other clients but cannot expand
