Hi,
Thank you for posting here.
From you post, I'm assuming you can not receive "Change the Backup TapeReminder". Is it correct?
I. First, please confirm that you are using NTBackup or SBS Backup Wizard
to back up the Server.
Currently, please perform the following steps to run SBS Backup Wizard, and
specify Onsite Tape Changer, then check if this issue persists. To do so:
1. Open the Server Management console on the SBS Server, go to Backup,
click Configure Backup.
2. Go to "Onsite Tape Changer" page, specify a user as tape changer.
3. Follow the instruction to finish this Wizard.
II. If the issue persists, I would like to suggest followings and collect
more information.
1. Please create a new test user with User Template. In the Backup Node of
server management console, please click Select a New Tape changer. Specify
the new user as tape changer and finish the wizard. Then, please let me
know:
a. Will the new user receive "Change the Backup Tape Reminder" email?
b. Will the old tape changer receive "Cancellation Request to Change Backup
Tape Reminder"?
2. Please run the following command in the command window on the SBS server
and get a screenshot of the output to me:
Telnet localhost 25
3. Since the user could receive the tape change reminder previously, is
there any change on the server before it stopped working?
4. Please export the following registry key and send it to me at
v-chacez@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SmallBusinessServer\Backup
5. Please send me the logs of BackupWizard.log in the C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\Support folder, the NTBackup
logs should be under C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\NTBackup\data.
Hope this helps, if you need more help, please do not hesitate to let me
know.
Have a nice weekend!
Best Regards,
Chace Zhang (MSFT)

| I have SBS 2003. I use the built-in MS backup software with a tape drive
and
| it works well, EXCEPT that notifications that were set to go to a local
| user stopped working after a couple backups. I ran through the setup
wizard
| again and it has the correct settings. The server uses Exchange in native
| (non-5.5) mode. I don't find any "unable to deliver" messages.
|
| What to do next?
