Re: Please help me Urgent

We were all newbies at one time, and with every new feature and release, we
become newbies once again.

The DHCP issue is a common one, and now that you know it, hopefully you'll
be able to help someone else down the road when they have the same
issue/problem.

I am a newbie, so forgive me if this is not right, but I have drilled this
into my own head. SBS2003 will not work in an environment with a DHCP
server
other than its self. In fact I had a client who tried to install a OEM
SBS2003 server and it (The SBS2003) found a Verizon Modem running a DHCP
server on it and it took more than 8 hours to find the real problem (The
modem) and once it was unpluged from the network the SBS Server 2003
worked
like a pro at 100%.

Does this hold water for you??? I hope so, Glad I could pass on my
knowledge...

Thank you for all your help. With out people like you we would all be in
the
dark. I will be sure to pass on any information you care to share with me.

I had recently add a Windows Server 2003 web edition to my network. Its

runnign a Proxy Server program ( Wingate v6.4) for Internet Connection
Sharing over my LAN. It also runs an Email Server (Mdaemon v9.0.

And I already have a Windows 2000 server which is running a Dhcp
Server. The problem is
IP address of my dhcp clients automatically gets the IP Address of the

Windows Server 2003 system as default gateway, which is happening only
after installing the Windows 2003 machine. How does this happen? can
anyone tell me please, coz i am not able to access the internet over
the LAN. Please help me Urgent
