I'm just beginning to add items to Sharepoint, not more than 50 docs have
been uploaded on 3 subsites.
As for updates, I've been good about using WSUS. I've got it set to get
updates every night so I can check it in the morning and pick which ones
apply and then download and install them. The server is current as of
Thursday last week.
The only other Event ID's in the DNS log are 708 and 4001.

Hi Mike,
recovering Data is fine, recovering exchange is fine (we holding your
hand..lol) but you just put a damper on (from personal
experiance...sharepoint..ouch) I personally haven't tried restoring
sharepoint and some have had issues.... how much data is here / how
critical is it... just asking incase better to input details again
manually. Dont want a sharepoint restore messing a fresh install...lol
With your current issues, have you applied ALL updates to this server ?
Me personally I do not like trying to fix a broken server, you fix one
thing, all seems fine and couple weeks down the road issues again, you
fight 2 avenues, is it something recently or to do with previous issue.
Add to check list, once installed apply all updates before trying to
recover data...lol
MS article 316685 problem with DNS I have seen when permissions on certain
folders haven't restored properly.
There must be another error in logs related to your problems I dont think
this article is related to your probs... Just checking, have all service
packs been applied?

It's running, but I had it on Manual. I'll put it on Automatic right
now.
