No, it happens on the two most used workstations.

Not at this time. I haven't used the notebook much lately, so I can't
say for sure. I'll keep watching it. As I said before the problem is
fixed by a reboot of the XP workstation, then it comes back.

More info. I turned on my notebook XP machine and it has full access
to the resource that the desktop can't reach.

Yes. I am on the local network, in the domain, and am a member of the
administrator group. It is not just my machine that exhibits this
problem. A reboot of the workstation fixes it for a while.

Every day or two I start getting access error messages when I try to
look at the local domain.
From My Network Places->Entire Network->Microsoft Windows
Network->mydomainname.
The popup message says
"myDomainname is not accessible. You midht not have permissiont to
use the network resource. Contact the administrator of this server
to find out if you have access permissions.
No more connections can be made to this remote computer at this time
because there are already as many connections as the computer can
accept."
Well, I am the administrator, logged into my desktop with my own
log-in, but as a memeber of the administrator group. I also have
connections to shares on the server that work fine, as does the
remote admin.
The machine is a 2GHz P4, 1.25GB ram, 200GB drive. Running exhange
server for 4 people. 4 workstations logged in. Also running NOD32
antivirus supporting a mirror for updates by the networked machines.
Visual SourceSafe server, Source Offsite Server (a client/server
front end for remote sourcesafe users of which there is maybe 1 a
day), SQL server is installed and apparently running, but we don't
use it for anything.
Is there a fix for this problem? Is it a sign of a virus or some
other attack?
Scott
