ok, I can access some websites from my desktop. Not google but some
news
web
sites like Drudge and Huffington Post.
I checked the event log, and I am sure you can tell I do not have much
knowledge with servers. In the applications I have an error dowloading
the
update for windows 2000 sql server for 2003 sbs. I downloaded like 75
updates today when the system stopped getting to the internet. This
error
appeared in the application event log. The DNS log was clean for the
past
few days with no errors, only log on log off info that occured during
the
updates.
There was also a message that the dhcp is running on a dc without
proper
security credentials. That appeared as a warning not an error

In
particular look at the DNS log.
On your computer try doing some nslookups to www.google.com or
something like that and see if DNS is resolving.

Some time around noon, the internet access for all computers on my
network
just dried up. All computers in the network can connect to the
server
and
access the information, but have limited access to the internet. I
can
get
on to some Microsoft websites from my desktop and from the server.
I
just
installed security updates. Now access to outside websites is very
limited,
only a few microsoft websites are being found.
I checked the network connections, and they both say the connection
is
fine,
intra and inter net that is. ANyone come accross this before?
