Re: Outlook Access from outside the firewall

Hi Owen,

Yes, I'm referring to RPC over HTTPS. This laptop is not joined to the SBS
domain, but I'm using it to check SBS mail through Outlook. How do I
install the certificate properly? Now I do recall installing a certificate
last time. When I used this URL: http://server/remote, it prompts for the
certificate and I picked install certificate. Is this good enough?

Thanks again for your help.

I had to rebuild one laptop and since I can't connect to the SBS Exchange
server through HTTPS. I've followed the instructions from
http://sbsserver/remote page but it's not working. It was working before
and I have a PocketPC working fine through https.

I think I had to do something extra to make it work but I can't remember
what I'm missing! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

John:

Your message is a little unclear, but I take it you are talking about
"Outlook via the Internet" a.k.a. "RPC over HTTPS"?

After you rebuilt the laptop, did you (re)join it to the domain using
http://<sbs>/ConnectComputer? If not, you probably need to manually
install the self-signed SBS certificate on the laptop. This must be
done before RPC over HTTPS will work.
