Thanks for your information by mail. I appreciate your time.

Based on my research, the issue may occur due to the Remote VD is
corrupted. I suggest that you backup the whole IIS metabase first and then
delete the "Remote" Virtual Directory and re-create it again in IIS server
to resolve the issue.

The Remote VD should be configured as follows:

1. Open IIS manager console, right-click on Default Web Site and select
New
- Virtual Directory.

2. In the Alias field, type in "Remote" and click Next

3£®Please configure the VD as follows£º

- Click Virtual Directory tab.
- Please ensure you have input proper Local Path (C:\Inetpub\Remote) and
also ensure the checkbox of Read, Log Visit and Index this resource are
checked.
And also ensure Application Settings as follows:

--Application Name: Remote
--Execute Permissions: Script only
--Application Pool: DefaultAppPool

- Click Directory Security tab.
- Click Edit under "Authentication and access control".
- Make sure that the "Enable anonymous access" and "Integrated Windows
Authentication" have been checked.
- Click Edit under "IP address and domain name restriction".
- Make sure that "Granted access" has been selected.
- Click Edit under "Secure communications".
- Make sure that "Require secure channel (SSL)" is selected.

4. Then please rerun the CEICW wizard and Configure Remote access wizard
to
go though all settings in the wizard to reconfigure the network connection
by NO choose the option "do not change..".

Then please let me know if the issue resolved.

I'm sending the files by email. This problem occurs from all remote users
over the internet and internal users over the LAN.

III. Please refer to the following steps to reproduce the issue and
collect
the ISAINFO and web proxy/Firewall service logs for analyze:

1). To get the ISAINFO: http://www.isatools.org/ISAInfo.vbe

2). Collect ISA logs:

A. Enable all the ISA logging options

1. In ISA Management console ' navigate to 'Servers and Arrays' '
'Monitoring Configuration' ' Logs, double click 'ISA Server Firewall
service' and switch to the 'Fields' tab, and then click 'Select All'.
2. Do the same thing (enable all the log options) to 'ISA Server Web
Proxy
Service'.
3. Do the same thing (enable all the log options) to 'Packet Filters'.

B. Clean Up the existing logs

1. Stop all the ISA services which includes 'MS Web Proxy', 'MS
Firewall'
and 'MS Scheduled Cache Content Download'.
2. Delete all the log files in 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft ISA
Server\ISALogs'.
3. Restart the services: 'MS Web Proxy', 'MS Firewall' and 'MS
Scheduled
Cache Content Download'.

C. Reproduce the problem on one remote XP client, and then compress and
send all new generated logs to me at (C:\Program Files\Microsoft ISA
Server\ISALogs) v-yanniw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Note: Please also know the IP address of the problematic XP client.

Hi Jenny

I've worked through this with no result - please note that I can
connect
with Conn Manager on existing clients - just cannot download the
manager.
I
couldn't create a VPN from the remote client - but will try again
later.
I've sent the required files to your email address - not done the ISA
stuff
as I'm using ISA 2000 at the moment and your instructions are for ISA
2004

D. Click OK. Restart IE and have a test.

II. Please refer to the following steps to clear cache from the
client/IIS/ISA.

1. Clear the cached, compressed copy of the affected files on the

*. Go to your %windows%\IIS Temporary Compressed Files directory
*. Select all of the content in this directory and delete it.

B. Go to a command prompt, type "iisreset".

2. If you have ISA installed on the SBS server, take the following
steps
to
clear the ISA cache.

A. Stop the Web Proxy service.
B. Locate the Urlcache folder.
C. From the multiple files in this folder, locate the *.cdat file in
this
folder.
D. Delete the *.cdat file.
E. Start the Web Proxy service.

3. Please delete the cached files in IE on both server and all
client
computers. To do so, follow these steps:

A. In Internet Explorer, click Internet Options on the Tools menu.
B. Click the General tab, and then click Delete Files.
C. Click OK.

III. To setup the SBS 2003 server as a VPN server, you can click the
"Configure Remote Access" link in To Do List and go through the
wizard.
If
you have a hardware firewall or router in front of your SBS 2003
server,
you should configure it to allow inbound traffic on port 1723 and
also
allow GRE protocol 47. And also ensure open TCP port 80, 443, 4125
on
your
Router and ISA firewall.

I suggest that you re-run CEICW wizard and Configure Remote access
wizard
in server management console to re-create the Connection Manage
package.
You can refer to the following steps:

1. Expand Standard Management | To Do List.
2. Click Connect to the Internet in the right pane.
3. Navigate the wizard to Firewall and then select Enable firewall.
In
the
next page, check option "Virtual private network" and "terminal
services"
in services configuration page.
4. Click Next and then select Allow access to the following web site
services from the internet.
5. Make sure "Remote Web Workspace" is selected and click Next.
6. Following the wizard to finish it.

7. Then click link "Configure remote access" to launch the remote

wizard to configure VPN server.

3. Please reproduce the issue and capture a screen shot of the
symptom.

4. Please also help me collect the following logs for analyze:

1). Please run command "ipconfig /all >c:\ipreport.txt" on the SBS
server
box and one client computer.

2). Please refer to the following steps to get system information:

a. Click Start and then Run.
b. Type in "msinfo32" without the quotations and click OK.
c. Once System Information is up and running, click File and then
Save.
Save the system information to a .nfo file.

3). Use the ISAinfo utility to collect the ISA configuration
information:
a. Download the file from the following URL:
http://www.isatools.org/isainfo/ISAInfo.zip
b. Extract all files to a folder on ISA server
c. Double click Isainfo.js. This will generate 2 files
ISAInfo2004-<computer-name>.log and ISAInfo2004-<computer-name>.xml

4). Gather the ISA Web Proxy and Firewall service logs when
reproducing
the
problem:
Enable the full Web Proxy/firewall logging option:
a. Open ISA 2004 management console.
b. Expand the server node and highlight ''Monitoring''.
c. In the right pane, switch to the ''Logging'' tab, make sure the
''Task
Pane'' is showed there.
d. In the ''Task Pane'', click ''Configure Web Proxy Logging'' under
''Logging Tasks'', and then switch the ''log storage format'' from
''MSDE
