RE: Exchange ActiveSync does not synchronize Calendar Objexts from

Hi Rene,
Thanks for your detailed update.
In order to ensure that I understand this issue correctly, I would like to
confirm the following points.
1.The users can create Calendar item in PPC, and this will be synced to
Exchange mailbox successfully. You can view this item in Outlook or OWA.
2. However when you create a calendar item in Outlook or OWA, this item
will never be synced to PPC by ActiveSync.
I don't think this issue relates to CRM. Based on my research, please check
the settings on SBS Server:
1. Go to the SBS server, open ''Exchange System Manager'' console. Expand
''Global Settings'', right-click ''Mobile Services'' and choose
''Properties''. Make sure ''Enable user initiated synchronization'' option
is checked.
2. On the SBS server, open ''Active Directory Users and Computers''.
Navigate to <Domain Name>\''MyBusiness''\''Users''\''SBSUsers''\.
Right-click the user's account, choose ''Exchange Tasks''. In the wizard,
click ''Next''-->Choose ''Configure Exchange Features''-->Make sure all
mobile services for this user are enabled.
3. Also it seems that it is not convenient for you to perform the test with
a PPC 2003, I would suggest that you directly contact HP to get the update.
More detailed information can be found at
http://www.hp.com/sbso/special/ppc_upgrade.html
We've seen some similar issues caused by the old PPC OS and with the latest
OS upgrade (provided by the OEM vendor, such as HP), the problem was
resolved. Another similar instance I saw before was finally resolved by a
hardware reset on the PPC 2002 (but that's not the HP 2210.)
3. The issue may be caused by incorrect configuration of URLScan or IIS
Lockdown Utility installed on this Exchange Server. More info here:
325965 The URLScan tool may cause problems in Outlook Web Access
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;325965
If you install URLScan or IIS Lockdown Utility on this Exchange Server,
please follow the steps in the article below to configure it.
309508 XCCC: IIS Lockdown and URLscan Configurations in an Exchange
Environment
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=309508
If the issue persists, please continue with next step
In this case, please send me the IIS log and IIS Metabase for further
research: v-chacez@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Additionally, for further test, please
temporarily disable SSL or send me the root certificate if you enable it
for ActiveSync; create a new test account and let me know the following
information. I can test on my side:
- Credential of this test account
- The public URL of your Exchange Server
- Domain name Best Regards,
Gather Meatbase and IIS Log:
1). Install MBExplorer by installing IIS 6 Resource Kit Tools:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=56FC92EE-A71A-4C73-
B628-ADE629C89499&displaylang=en.
2). Once it is installed, access it from Start, Programs, IIS Resources,
Metabase Explorer.
3). In the left pane, right click ''LM'' (under your server computer name)
to choose ''Export to file'', and then save it as IIS.mbk.
4). Compress this mbk file and send it to me for analysis. Please let me
know the password if you set on this iis mbk file.
5. Please collect the IIS log on Exchange Server so that I can perform
further research:
1). On Exchange Serves, open IIS MMC, right click Default Web Site and then
click Properties.
2). Click Website tab and then check Enable logging.
3). Stop the Default Website and RENAME the existing IIS log files under
C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles\W3SVC1.
4). Restart the Default Website and reproduce the error HTTP 401.1, which
will generate new IIS log file with the exact error.
5). Wait for a while so that IIS Log can be synced. And then go to the
following folder on Exchange Server: C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles\W3SVC1.
6). Send me the log files to my working email address
v-chacez@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx And please let me know the alias of the user who
encountered the issue.
Hope this helps, if you need more help on this issue, please feel free to
let me know.
Have a nice day!
Best Regards,
Chace Zhang (MSFT)
