Hi Richard,
Thanks for using the SBS newsgroup.
I am really sorry for the delayed response due to weekend and high volume.
Please understand that the newsgroups are staffed weekdays by Microsoft
Support professionals to answer your systems and applications questions.
Your understanding is greatly appreciated!
For your description, I understand that you failed to synchronize some
files under the folder "My documents" which is redirected to the SBS server
box. If I am off base, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Let's do some test to try to trouble shoot the issue:
I. Please logon other workstation with the affected user account and then
logoff to see if the synchronization issue happens. If there is not
synchronize error message prompted, that indicates that the user profile in
the affected workstation is corrupted. You can create a new user profile
for the affected user account to resolve the issue.
To create new user profile for one acount, you can refer to the following
steps:
1. Logon the client computer with another Administrator user account,
rename the user profile folder, such as: rename folder "jenny wu" to "jenny
wu.old".
By default, the user profile should locate at: C:\Documents and
Settings\useraccountname.
2. Then logoff the computer.
3. Logon the computer with the user account, and system will create a new
folder for the user, then please shut down the workstation to see if you
can synchronize the files successfully.
II. Please try to reinitialize the offline files cache of the problematic
computer to test.
1. Open Windows Explorer and the folder options. Under the Offline files
tab click the delete files button to delete cashed offline files.
2. Reboot the computer and try to synchronize data again to see if the
issue be fixed.
III. If the issue persist, please help to collect the following information
to isolate the issue:
1. Please make sure you have set enough disk space for offline files. This
is in Tools>>Folder Options>>Offline files.
2. Please try to use another user account logon to the laptop to try to
synchronize My documents, what is the result?
3. When did the issue happen? What you have done on the server box or the
laptop before the issue happens?
4. Please run command "msinfo32" (no quotation marks) on the SBS server box
and the laptop to launch System Information console. And click File and
then Save. Save the system information to a .nfo file to send to me. My
working mailbox: v-yanniw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
I appreciate your time. I am happy to be of assistance to you and look
forward to your reply.
Have a nice day!
Sincerely,
Jenny Wu

Hello,
I have a specific folder that is set to synchronize offline from my laptop
to my SBS 2003 server.
Upon a synchronization at shutdown, I am receiving the following error:
Unable to make "file name" available offline on
\\servername\users\username\My Documents\subfolder. The system is running
with the last known good configuration.
Then I have others that have:
The system cannot find the file specified.
There are a total of 3 files that cannot be synchronized all in the same
subdirectory on My documents.
Has anyone else run into these errors?
What settings should we check to remedy this problem?
Thanks
