Mailbox v Public Folder

Hi when sending email messages from our web site, our exchange server
happily receives and processes them to a mailbox. However if I send them
to a public folder, the the messages are getting lost. the problem is that
we need the messages in the public folder.

The public folder is enabled for Emails, and the permissions are default and
Anonymous as Contributor, whilst the four members are staff are set as
owners.

Can anyone tell me why the messages are not getting through, since we have
emails being sent to the same folder from other people quite happily.

Thanks
A

.
