RE: SBS AD Error

Hi,

Thank you for posting here.

I glad to hear you can open the ADUC console properly, currently I do not
suggest you go through step 2 in my previous response, please monitor your
SBS Server verify whether everything is working like a charm.

As I understand from your post message, you are unable to create users by
Add user Wizard. If I am off base, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Based on my research, if the system cannot find the default share (Users)
of this folder when you create a user, this error will occur. To resolve
this issue, we just need to share this folder by using the default shared
name. To do this, let's use the following steps:

1. Open the properties page of "Users Shared Folders"
2. In the Sharing tab, please click to check "Do not share this folder"
3. Click Apply button
4. Click to check "Share this folder" option 5. Change the Share name to
"Users" (without quotation marks)
Note: The name is NOT " Users Shared Folders"
6. Click the permission button to grant the proper Share Permissions to
domain users 7. Click Ok

The permissions for the Users Shared Folder are:

NTFS Permissions:

Domain Admins: Full Control
Domain Users: Special - Allow: Traverse Folder/Execute Files, List
Folder/Read Data, Read Attributes, Read Extended Attributes, Create
Folders/Append Data, Read Permissions
System: Full Control
SBS Folder Operators: Full Control

Share Permissions:

Domain Admins, Domain Users, SBS Folder Operators: Full Control

Individual Users Folder

NTFS Permissions:

Domain Admins: Full Control (Inherited)
System: Full Control (Inherited)
SBS Folder Operators: Full Control (Inherited) Individual user: Full
Control (Not Inherited)

For more information, you can refer to the "move users shared folder"
section in the following white paper:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/1/6/11671e4d-fb21-489c-870f-db36fd2
1a7d2/SBS_MoveDataFolders.DOC

After the above steps, please try to create account again.

If you have any other further help, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Have nice day!

Best Regards,

Chace Zhang (MSFT)

| Hello,
|
| When going through Step 1, Creating additional admin account, I
encountered
| the following error(s):
|
| - A home folder could not be created for user.
| - Quota information could not be set.
|
| I then went to ADUC and at least the new account was listed there,
however,
| when I click the newly created user I get the same error (c0070002). I
| clicked OK on the Error Message Dialog Box and the Shortcut Menu opens.
Then,
| when I click properties, ADUC dies.
|
| I then logged out of that account and logged back in using the newly
created
| account. I was then presented with numerous MS MMC encountered a problem
and
| needed to be close error reports. After sending those reports on their
way,
| the newly created account appears to be operational and I can now access
ADUC
| without any issues (thus far). I will note that the account that I was
logged
| in as when I created the new Admin account however was no longer listed
in
| ADUC.
|
| Thank you for your much appreciated assistance!
