Re: Is ISP blocking traffic? ADSL bridged modem - Linksys FEFW11s4 - SBS Standard

Is the ADSL modem actually a modem or a router?

Have you tried connecting a laptop or computer directly to the linksys
to see if you manage to get through the linksys to your internal SBS?

Have you opened up/forwarded the required ports for RWW and OWA, and do
you have them forwarded to the SBS?

Hello, I'm trying to get RWW and OWA to work over the Internet and I'm
starting to think the ISP is blocking traffic. They claim they aren't
blocking anything but Ping. But without Ping, how do I verify the static IP
they gave me can be reached from the Internet?

I've got a ADSL modem from the ISP that is a bridge.

The public IP is assigned to a Linksys BEFW11S4 v.4 broadband
wireless/4port router, the internal gateway address is 192.168.1.1

DHCP is enabled for the wireless (non domain) connections for public
wireless internet connections with a range of 192.168.1.2-49

DMZ is set to the static IP of the server 192.168.1.150

The external nic on the Dell 830 server (SBS standard edition) is set to
192.168.1.150
Internal nic is the default 192.168.16.2

Internal nic is connected to a 16 port switch, as are the client desktops.

I've run the CEICW and RAW, and remote access works from the internal
network.

But when I attempt to connect to the server from outside using
https://ipaddress/remote or https://sever.example.com/remote (there is an A
record for this pointing to the public IP) I get no response, just a
timeout, like the IP doesn't exist. (Cannot find server) Same with attempts
to connect with telnet. I also can't connect to the Linksys at
http://ipaddress:8080 which should work.

Is there any way to prove the ISP is blocking traffic, or have I screwed
something up in the network configuration?

Thanks,

Damon
