RE: SharePoint Error

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hi,

Thanks for your update, sorry for the delayed response.

I understand that after reinstalling the Companyweb components, you got the
error message "An error occurred while installing Windows SharePoint
Services and creating your intranet site." The problem could occur, when
you use the old media (shipped before 2004) or OEM CD. Here, I would like
to give you the following action plan:

1. Check the date of the files on SBS Setup CD #3. Check the date of SBS
directory. 12/1/2003 or later is OK.

2. Check if the hotfix Q832880 is installed. Open Add/Remove Programs in
Control panel. Is there a item named as "Windows Small Business Server 2003
hotfix - KB 832880"? If not, please visit the following KB article and then
install the hotfix:
832880 You cannot successfully install the intranet component or connect to
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=832880

After that, please follow the MS article below to reinstall SharePoint
Services companyweb Web site

How to remove and how to install the Windows Small Business Server 2003
SharePoint Services companyweb Web site
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829114/

Regarding the exchange issue, what is the detailed symptom?

Regarding the screen2, please open services console on SBS Server.

a. Click Start and then Run.
b. Type in "msinfo32" without the quotations and click OK
c. Make sure the "Help and Support" Service is started

If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know.

Have a nice day!

Best Regards,

Chace Zhang (MSFT)
