Re: SBS2k3 server won't start

Did you check for this missing registry key?

HKLM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTPFilter

Merv

Thanks for your quick responce with this error however I now have a
problem with ISA server 2004 and the firewall not starting

ISA server has a Event ID 14127 Web proxy filter could not INtialise (
error code 505.112.4.0.2165.594)

and The firewall service Event Id 14001 Firewall Service failed to
initalise. Previous event log entries might help
determin the proper action.

Checked the Knowledge base and Tech Net and the errors suggested a
hotfix which I got and tried to install however It wont install as MC
has SP2 for ISA.

Not sure where to go from here Any suggestion greatfully accepted as
none of the companies users can login to the server

I have a SBS2k3 server that powered down unexpectedly and now won't
start in any mode, just comes up to a point with the mouse pointer in
the centre of the screen.

After doing a repair it starts to the alt ctl del screen stating that
one service failed to start and alt ctl del does nothing. It then
displays a small window saying that c:\windows\system32\lsass.exe has
terminated unexpectedly with status code 0 and shuts down in 60 secs.

The machine the goes back to mouse pointer in the centre of the screen
when it restarts thats where it finishes no errors, no prep for network
connections, no logon screen.

Have done a parallel install to another partition up to the continue
install stage and it boots fine

When I look at the faulty install from the good one I see that
Lsass.exe is missing from the system32 folder.

Have run the Malicious Software Removal Tool (KB890830) on the whole
machine external drives inc and found nothing.

Now at a loss on where to go from here any suggestion warmly welcome

Very urgent as I have the customer down
