Hey ...

Hmmm ... first try basic thing....First and foremost ... u need to make
sure that internet is working on the PPC ( I am sure it is ) :-)

1. can u try syncing the device without SSL and see if it is working .

2. make sure that all the settings on the device are correct .
3. can u login to OWA for that user ??
4. Can u try that for administrator username.
5. Check the OMA VDIR in IIS . Check the permissions.

If u r trying with SSL ... might be certificate issue .
Make sure that the correct certificate is installed . ( Do not forget
to uninstall the old certificate ....)

Well that's it from my kitty...Hope that works,

Regards,

Hi,

I'm setting up the first mobile device for this SBS box, and I've had
all kinds of problems with OMA & EAS. I've managed to get OMA sorted,
and although I've had to run off forcing SSL on the exchange-oma vdir,
I've configured the network firewall to only allow https connection in,
so that shouldn't be much of an issue. I still can't figure out why it
shouldn't just work, especially since MS KB 817379 says that the SBS
CEICW does what it should be doing.

But anyway, my immediate problem is getting a PocketPC 2003 device to
sync with Exchange. Here's a brief breakdown of the situation (from my
notes, so excuse the lack of grammar etc):

Trying ActiveSync via USB. (XP Pro SP2 workstation)
Getting error Internet_55 to Exchange, sync with PC OK.
Ran CEICW, change Cert name to owa.domainname.co.uk (old cert used to
be different)
Deleted partnership, set up new partnership and set server address to
owa.domainname.co.uk
Get same error
Deleted old cert from PPC
Exported owa.domainname.co.uk cert to device \storage card
Used spaddcert.exe to add owa.domainname.co.uk cert to device &
restarted
Sync: same error
Download & Run certchk to disable cert checking on PPC
Try sync, get error: INTERNET_152
MS KB318376 doesn't apply here.. default site is running
Try exchange server activesync over GPRS.. goes further, starts looking
for changes then exits with error: 0x80004005
IIS logs show that device managed to contact server, but obviously
doesn't tell much more.

I've read that nextags.exe is a very useful app to troubleshoot stuff
like this, but I can't find a copy of it anywhere...

Any help greatly appreciated!!!
TIA,

bud
