David
Glad to hear you found someone in your area. But before they touch the machine, I would verify how many of these have they done (they should be able to provide references that you can actually contact) and what issues they had when they did it, and how quickly did they resolve them.
Lots of people are good at taking tests...but nothing beats hands on.
SP1 for SBS contains multiple CDs and/or downloads and thus couldn't be offered like other updates.

Cris,
Thanks for the reply, I've found a local Small Business Specialist and going
to give them a call.
I am really a software developer with no time to manage the server hence why
we bought SBS as it had everything in one box, I would have thought that
these service packs would have been downloaded by the WSUS (v2) that I
installed earlier this year.
I'll get someone in to give the system a spring clean and review our backup
policy, as I have restored deleted files before but never a whole system
(god forbid!).

Well your concern should go way beyond simply applying SP1 for SBS because
you're about a year behind in keeping your server up to date.
If you want a 3rd party to come do it, let us know where you're at and
perhaps we can recommend someone in your area OR go here
http://www.microsoft.com/smallbusiness/hub.mspx and enter your zip code
I would go for someone who has earned the small business specialist cert
first, but you should also confirm with them how many they have done.
for references, etc.are
the biggest key to doing SP1 in my opinion is:
1. Order the CD
2. Read all the documents on the CD
3. Read the documents again
4. Backup the server
5. Verify you can restore a file
6. Back up the server again
7. Read the documents again.
8. Make sure everyone is shut down
9. Stop the Antivirus
10. Go for it.
If it goes amiss, calls to MS support for issues with Service Packs etc, freecan
