RE: New Install of SBS2003 SP1: No Server Managmenet App?

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

I am using the CD install version and it only prompted me to put in CD 2. I
am beginning to think I don't have a complete install . . .

Just to point out that though SBS does come on 4 CDs, it also comes on a
single DVD which I assumes John was using as he did not mention a robot to
change CDs overnight ;)

Hi John,

It sounds like you are missing a restart. When the SBS install process is
truly complete it should restart one last time to bring you back to the
Ctrl-Alt-Del to logon screen. If that doesn't work I would view your install
with a great deal of suspicion, but in the meantime you can find the Server
Management console in the following directory:

c:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business
Server\Administration\itprosbsconsole.msc

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Hello:

I just installed SBS2003 SP1 last night but cannot locate the Server
Managmenet app to begin the rest of my To Dos.

I'm not quite certain if I did anything wrong during the install but left
the server on over night while it finished the work (e.g., installing
exchange server). In the morning, it showed that it had rebooted itself and
wasn't prompting for any more inputs, etc. However, I should theoretically
be able to click Start and then "Server Management" but it isn't there. Did
my install fail? Am I forgetting to install more software (I've only used
Disk 1 and Disk 2 of the CDs so far).

Any help would be great.

Thx.
John
