Tonite, 24 hrs later, store is at 591Mb - we will see where it is by morning. I will post later as I will be out of town all day tomorrow.
Out of curiosity, does anyone have any idea what store.exe does with
several hundreds of megabytes of a fairly scarce and valuable resource?
Something so time-critical that it must be kept in RAM rather than
pulled from disc?
Exchange is a database. It's trying to optimise disk I/O away as much as possible, because that's orders of magnitude slower than operations carried out in RAM. And RAM shouldn't be "scarce" in a server!
