Re: KB908531 succesfull install but keeps reapperaing in windows u

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi,

I upgraded to MU.

Relaoded the server

unintsalled KB90851 succesfully
after the unistall it says to apply changes the server needs to be reloaded,
reload now yes or no(standard promtpt)

I chose "no" and as I want to know whether I should reload before reapplying
KB908531 or do it before the reload. My fear is that having removed KB908531
if I relaod the server it may not come up again.

I have not attempted to reapply manually yet as I want to know whether to
reload the server first or not as described above

Regards

Steve

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your posting and thanks for Kevin's input.

For your issue, please also see the following information:

To narrow down the problem, would you please help me collect the following
information?

1. Do you mean you have uninstalled KB908531 after you upgraded to
Microsoft Update?
2. You said "When I uninstalled it says says to reload", can you describe
the detailed scenario?
3. You said you have upgraded WU to MU and rebooted the server, after that,
can you install KB908531 successfully manually?

I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Crina Li (MSFT)

| I have upgraded to Microsoft Update and reloaded the server.
| After this I have uninstalled KB908531.
|
| If I run MU again it now says I have no priority updates so I am left
| without the patch.
|
| A couple of questions.
| When I uninstalled it says says to reload. Should I do this before
running
| MU again
| or
| should I manully install KB908531 before a relaod.
| Exceuse my caution but i've been here before and ended up having to
rebuild
| an entire server.
|
| thanks in advance
