I have an SBS2003 Premium SP1 server. There are approximately 10 workstations in the office all running Windows XP SP2 + updates. We bought a new laptop with XP Media Center on it. This laptop went to a site about 60 miles away. A dsl line was run into a site trailer. One of the users is attempting to use RWW on this laptop to connect to his workstation back in the office and update project files from the field..
The user has normal speed, 756 kb, web access from his laptop to a major web site like Google or Yahoo. As soon as he logs into his workstation using RWW the line speed goes to about 44kb, measured, and updating large excel spreadsheets is very painful. There are no terminal servers in the installation. When I access the computer using RWW from my remote site I get expected speeds.
I've been searching. I've found the TS subjects and they aren't a factor here. Can anyone think of a reason why this would occur?
Thanks,
Denny
