Re: Winsock error after running CEICW

Found out I made a mistake on the router; forgot to scroll down to the
bottom of the screen and click "Apply". None of the changes I'd made
yesterday were there. Re-did them all and added port 23, clicked "Apply"
went to other screens and came back - everything was still there. Logged
out and reran CEICW, and enabled Terminal Services this time.

ok... the response I got could have been because you have port 23 (Telnet)
blocked in the router, so it may not have been a vaild test. You could
forward port 23 to the external NIC, re-run CEICW and then try Telnet
again.

When you r-ran CEICW, did you enable the firewall and select the services
(including Email), then enable Internet Email and select "use DNS to route
email"?

Running SBS 2003 Premium, Exchange, ISA, WSUS. All patches, etc., are
current.
==================
I ran CEICW about 30 minutes ago to move email from ISP to our Exchange
server. I forwarded port 25 on the router to the external NIC
(192.168.1.10). CEICW ran just as advertised.

I know that it takes awhile to have these changes propagate, but I
decided to see if it was "live" yet, so I went to dnsreport.com and typed
in an email address to check. Got an error for the mail server "could
not connect, Winsock error #10054". Tried a test on the DNS side, and it
timed out trying to "talk" to the mail server.

At this point, should I be concerned?
