Re: Too slow to shutdown..
Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry
Aloha Massimo,
In my experience stopping the Exchange services tends to speed up shutdown.
How often are you shutting down these servers, though? Our SBS servers
don't get shut down often enough for me to worry much about the speed of
the shutdown.

Microsoft OneNote FAQ:

I have installed many server DELL with windows server sbs 2003
standard to
clients.
All server have the similar configuration 2GB RAM RAID MIRROR HARDWARE
XEON
3 GHZ or P4 3Ghz gigabit ethernet backup on external disk connect with
USB.
All server have active directory, dns, dhcp, share point, exchange
I use UPS 1200VA for all server.
If i shutdown any server it takes more of 5 minutes to turn off. It's
a very long time.
What can i make for reduce this time? If i shutdown after restart the
server it takes fewer 3 minutes to turn off.
Can i monitor some service and/or change specific service's
configuration for make server faster to shutdown?
Thank'you
.
