Eriq,
Thanks for the reply. Removing the search base fixed the LDAP problem,
however, I am still experiencing problems when trying to simply open
Entourage. It tells me that the certificate is invalid and forces me to
login with my password each time I start Entourage.
I originally took the SBScert from the clientapps folder and imported it as
x509 to the keychain app on the Macintosh. When I access the certificate
from Keychain access the trust settings are using default system settings.
So I tried to change it to trusted however it will not save onto the
certificate.
Do you know how I can resolve this issue?
I also tried to load the original cert from the SBS machine into the
Microsoft Cert manager and save as x509 then reimport this to the keychain
access app. Unofortunately this did not work either.
Thanks,
Richard

First, I'd remove the "search base" you have configured. It's not needed in
Entourage, and the one you have is pointing to the wrong place for SBS users.
Second, are you trying to configure this Mac for use inside teh network or
outside the network? I suspect you are trying to configure for an inside
configuration, but for clarity, outside will not work unless you have the
LDPA ports forarded through your internet firewall, which is something you
generally don't want to do.
I think that this will start working for you when you remove the settings
you have in teh search base, however.
HTH...

Hello,
I have a new Macintosh which I am trying to configure Entourage 2004 to a
Small business Server 2003 SP1 running Exchange SP1.
Entourage on the Mac is fully patched.
The server is running IMAP4 and File services for the Macintosh.
When I try to address a new email in the Entourage client and I navigate the
drop down list to Default Global Address List (Exchange), and try to search
on an entry in the GAL, I receive an error:
Unknown error (-17709), LDAP server error, Account: Exchange.
My current settings under the advanced tab of the Exchange account settings
are:
ldap server: FQDN of my SBS 2003 server
This server requires me to login is CHECKED.
Override current LDAP port is CHECKED and set to 3268 and search base is set
to: cn=users, dn=ttag, dc=int Our internal FQDN is ttag.int
Send/Receive emails works fine and I receive emails immediately from the
Exchange server without problems.
Any help here is welcome as I would like to get the LDAP configured for the
Exchange Server GAL.
Thanks.
