Hi Crina Li,
Are you saying there's guaranteed no chance for repairing the database and
that a restore must be performed? Please see my post in Jorge's thread
where I decribe possibly tyring http://support.microsoft.com/kb/240362/, but
of course I only want to do that after an attempt to repair (unless that is
100% impossible).
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,
Thank you for posting in SBS newsgroup.
From the error message, it seems that the AD database has corrupted fully.
You may best to restore the system from backup or do an Offline Defragment
of AD. If it still not helps, you may need to contact CSS for better
support.
For more info about defragment, please refer to:
198793 The Active Directory Database Garbage Collection Process
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;198793
232122 Performing Offline Defragmentation of the Active Directory Database

Also SBS 2003 provides a reliable way to perform regular server backups.
After a system failure or other disaster, you can restore your server from
your latest backup. Refer to the following whitepaper for more
information:

Due to the complexity of this issue, to save your time, you may need to
contact CSS for better support.
A suggestion would be to contact Microsoft Product Support Services via
telephone so that a dedicated Support Professional can assist with your
request. Please be advised that contacting phone support will be a charged
call. However, if you are simply requesting a hotfix be sent to you and no
other support then charges are usually refunded or waived.
To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request please take a
look at the web site listed below.

If you are outside the US please see http://support.microsoft.com for
regional support phone numbers.
Thanks for your understanding!

Crina Li (MSFT)

| Hi,
| I have a SBS 2003 SP server giving the following error everytime I try
to
add a PC to the domain.
| Event Type: Error
| Event Source: NTDS ISAM
| Event Category: Database Corruption
| Event ID: 447
| Date: 8/16/2006
| Time: 4:59:09 PM
| User: N/A
| Computer: STP1
| Description:
| NTDS (772) NTDSA: A bad page link (error -327) has been detected in a
B-Tree (ObjectId: 29, PgnoRoot: 47) of database C:\WINDOWS\NTDS\ntds.dit
(2929 => 527, 2930).
| I can then see in AD in domain.local\Computers, the PC I tried to add,
but with a red x next to it. When I try to delete there it gives an error
| "Windows cannot delete object pc-name because: An internal error
occurred."
| Of course another error like the one above appears in the DS Event Log.
| I've rebooted the sever. I also applied the hotifx for kb902396.
Nothing is fixing this. What should I try next?
| Thanks,
| Mike
