Incoming external remote desktop stalls

Have a 2 month old Dell with SBS2003 (not R2) pre-installed on it, no
other problems.
however when I try to connect via the internet it stalls before theFrom the internal LAN I can remote desktop into the server no problem,
login box appears - that is to say remote desktop connects to the
server, then starts updating the screen with the dell desktop
background, then stalls, usually half-way or three-quarters way of the
update. [ eg. http://www.dundeemedia.com/rdpview.jpg ] After a while, a
time-out occurs and the message shown is: "The connection to the remote
computer was broken. This may have been caused by a network error"
I have no problems connecting to any of my other clients via RDP.
There are no problems with receiving email via smtp on the server, so
there's no problem with the internet connection.
Any help gratefully appreciated, as this is doing my head in!
Regards,
Mark
