The standard product rules simply don't apply when it comes to SBS. SBS is designed to be the whole "enchilada". FSMO Roles, Global Catalog Server, DNS Server, DHCP SErver, WINS Server, RRAS Server, Exchange Server, and ISA Server if you are running Premium Edition, oh and I left out File and Print, SQL Server, Windows Sharepoint Services...whew!
There's nothing wrong with having Additional DCs, they can be GCs, DNS Servers, etc. But the licensing for SBS is very clear about it being the First Server (holds the FSMO roles)
Due to the tight integration of SBS not sure what you'll run into. This is the first time since I started hanging out here in 1998 that this has come up. You sure couldn't make another server the PDC in the SBS 4.0 (WinNT) days.

Hi Cris,
Thanks for the Response
>From what I understand the Infrastructure FSMO shouldn't be on a Global
Catalogue server which the SBS box is (and the BDC is not).
What are the risks of transferring the role back?
Thanks
