Hi,

Thanks for posting here. Also thanks for lynrat's input.

From your description, I understand the issue is that some users have
problem to redirect My documents to the shared folder on the server box. If
I am off base, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Let us follow the steps below to trouble shoot the issue:

I. Check the shared folder permissions:

1. NTFS permissions:

Domain Admin: Full Control

Domain Users: Special - Apply onto "This folder and files" -
Allow: Traverse Folder/Execute Files, List Folder/Read Data, Read
Attributes, Read Extended Attributes, Create Folders/Append Data, Read
Permissions

System: Full Control

SBS Folder Operators: Full Control

2. Sharing permissions:

Domain Admins, Domain Users, SBS Folder Operators: Full Control

II. How you configured GPO to redirect My Documents? Did you create a new
group policy object or modify some group policy object? What is the group
policy object name? Please ensure the group policy apply to all
Authenticated Users. You can check as follows:

1. Open server management console, locate Advanced Management -> Group
Policy Management -> Forest -> Domains -> Group Policy Objects node.

2. Highlight the GPO, under the Scope tab in the right panel, please ensure
the GPO apply to Authenticated Users in domain.

3. Under Delegation tab, click "Advanced" button to open its Security
settings page. Please ensure Authenticated users and domain users at least
have "Read" and "Apply Group Policy" Permissions. Or ensure the appropriate
users in your OU have "Read" and "Apply Group Policy" Permissions.

4. After verifying above settings, please run "gpupdate /force" to refresh
the policy on the server box. Then reboot one client computer with
problematic user account, what is the result?

III. If the issue persists, I would like to suggest that you configure the
My documents redirection with the easy wizard- Client Document Redirection
wizard. And let me know the result.

You can do as follows:

1. Open Server Management console, navigate to Users -> Configure My
Documents redirection, click the link "Configure My Documents redirection"
to launch the Client Document Redirection wizard.

2. Follow the wizard to redirect my documents folder to the specified
shared folder.

3. Then please test the issue, what is the result?

If the issue persists, please kindly help me collect some information for
analyze:

1. Does the issue happen on all domain users or some specific domain users?

2. Please help me collect the GPO policy report.

You can locate the policie in Group Policy Management console, right click
the policy to choose Save Reports.. item to save the policy report. Please
mail them to me.

2. On the SBS server, click Start -> Run, type in "gpmc.msc", click OK.
Right-click Group Policy Results and click Group Policy Results Wizard...,
click Next, select "Another computer", type the name of a "problematic"
client and click Next. Select "Select a specific user" and then select the
user who has the problem, click Next. Follow the instructions to generate a
group policy result report, right-click the report and click Save Report.
Then send it to me at v-yanniw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

3. Logon the client with problematic user account, install the GPMC tool
and re-create a Group Policy results by choosing "This Computer", "Current
User". And also mail the report to me.

You can down the tool and get more information in the following link:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/gpmc/gpmcwp.mspx

4. Please run command "msinfo32" (no quotation marks) on the server box to
launch System Information console. And click File and then Save. Save the
system information to a .nfo file to send to me. My working mailbox:
v-yanniw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Please compress all files and send to my working mailbox:
v-yanniw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I appreciate your time. I am happy to be of assistance to you and look
forward to your reply.

Have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Jenny Wu

Might wanna check the permissions on the \\server\users share, make sure
that
each users folders give full acces to the user that owns it, it probably
works for you because you have admin rights and they do no...

I have a GPO to redirect Authenticated Users shared folders to

\\<server>\Users\<username>\My Documents

this has stopped working for some users for no apparent reason. (they
log
in one morning, and their documents are done).

I use their login on another computer, and their documents are also not
available, but if I log in as myself, it works.

Anyone got any ideas?
