I'll expand on that.
Verison is quite popular as an ISP in this group but if they were one of my
choices (living in AU I don't believe they are) I _might_ use them as an
internet connection method but I wouldn't count on their advice for anything
relating to services.

Yes both the Q and Treo 700w from Verizon will work just fine with self
signed certificates. As Lanwench says, however, Verizon doesn't know how.

Well, you are maybe right but the Motorolla Q did not want to work
with self signed and Verizon tech support do not support you unless
you have recommended certificate on the server :-(
Verizon doesn't know how to support anything to do with your Exchange
server, and you shouldn't bother even asking. I've set up many different
kinds of Windows Mobile devices with self-signed certs, and they work
just
fine.
2.If you go to https://mycompany.com/remote (or server/remote) does
the user
get prompted for a certificate, or does it just open up properly?
User receives the certificate pop up
If so, you need to install the certificate locally when you get the
popup.
Thank You,
Roman

Hello,
I was happy for some time till I have deployed a Thawte certificate
on server in order to get our mobile 5 working with Exchange.

We were
able to sync Outlook with Exchange over RPC w/Basic authentication.
Since last week somehow we are no longer able to sync Outlook over
RPC.It is just asking for login/password and does not get
authenticated. Any one has such a problem and know how to fix it? I
have checked all
steps per MS documentation how to enable RPC on SBS as well steps in
SBS Diva blog --- all seems to be as suppose to be.
Thank you all for your help.
Roman
If you go to https://mycompany.com/remote (or server/remote) does
the user get prompted for a certificate, or does it just open up
properly? Did you remove the old self-signed cert from the client?
