This is one of those obvious points which I never questioned upon arriving at
the client. I'll reconfigure it. Thank you.

If there is a router, why does the external NIC have a public IP address?.
Normally this is set up as in the following diagram:
Two Nics, a static IP address, router

Thanks for your fast response, Merv.
OK, SharePoint is good to go, but still no RWW. Any ideas please?

SharePoint Services companyweb Web site

Then change any passwords the new client knows about on the server
and
install a trial version of SBS (almost free) into a VPC image (VPC
is
free)
on his WinXP Pro desktop (with at least 1 GB RAM). He can then
play
with
the VPC image until he figures out what he's doing, or gives up and

A new client inquired about using SharePoint on an existing SBS
2003
installation. To my shock he called 2 hours later saying he had
noodled
around, then uninstalled SharePoint (not using KB 829114 as a
guide).
RWW hasn't worked since. The backups are inaccessable.
Running CEICW, I get an error during firewall configuration
saying
"An
error
occurred while configuring a component. To continue with the
wizard
and
configure remaining components click OK"
(I renamed the previous log to icwlog.old). Here is the output
from
icwlog.txt.
