Hi,
Thank you for the quick response.
If you are using Small Business Server Standard edition, by default, ISA
Server will not be installed on SBS box.
In general we need more than 2 NICs to deploy ISA Server, so I suppose no
ISA in your environment.
Since you mentioned this issue only occurs when users access terminal
server remotely, in other words, you didn't encountered "Vbscript: Remote
desktop disconnected" error in local. Please verify this.
Do you setup Terminal Server on SBS 2003 ,Windows 2003 or Windows 2000.
Does this issue occur on all desktops of remote office? Or just occur on
specific workstation?
Currently, I'd like to provide the following suggestions for your reference:
Suggestion 1. Disable Pop-up Blocker.
In Internet Explorer on the workstation you are connecting from, go to
Tools, Internet Options, then click on the Privacy tab, remove the check
for Block pop-ups.
And then test whether the problem persists.
Suggestion 2. Please try to clear I'm using a public or shared computer on
RWW logon page and then logon to see if it helps.
Suggestion 3. Disable software.
If you've installed any anti-virus or firewall products on the
server/client, please temporary disable them and test the problem again.
Suggestion 4. Modify C:\Inetpub\Remote\tsweb.aspx file.
On the Terminal Server:
1. Make a copy of the tsweb.aspx file in the event you need to revert
quickly.
2. Edit tsweb.aspx with notepad.
3. Search for "MsRdpClient.AdvancedSettings2.EnableAutoReconnect" (without
the quotes).
4. Change the valie from "= FALSE" to "= TRUE" (without the quote).
5. The next line should start
"MsRdpClient.AdvancedSettings2.MinutesToIdleTimeout" with a value of "=
<%=rapLinks.timeoutSeconds / 120%>. Change the value to a larger one that
is no more than 240 (as testing with values over 240 result in the
connection failure.)
6. Save the changes in the file and exit notepad.
7. Perform an iisreset.
8. Test whether the problem persists. If yes, restore the backed up file.
Suggestion 5. Perform a reboot of the server and check it again.
Based on my research, this issue also could relate Router/firewall, please
replace the LinkSys Router in your main office and branch office.
If this issue persists, please collect following info and send to me for
further research:
1. Please send me a screen shot to let me know the shared Internet
Connection and the error message:
To take a screen shot:
---------------------
1) Press the Pr Scrn key once on the keyboard when the error message
appears.
2) Click Start, go to Run, enter MSPAINT in the open dialog box, and then
Click OK.
3) Use Ctrl + V to paste the screenshot to the canvas.
4) From the File menu, go to Save and save it as a JPG file.
5) Send the JPG file to me as an attachment.
2. Please reproduce this issue and send application log on Terminal Server.
To do so:
1) Enter "eventvwr" in command prompt
2) Locate Application log and pull up "Save log file as.."
3) Save it as *.evt file
Please send above info to my email address:v-chacez@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or concerns
regarding the issue.
Thanks for your time and I look forward to your reply.
Have a nice day
Best Regards,
Chace Zhang (MSFT)

| The issue occurs only on remote connections to terminal server.
|
| We use SBS 2003 standard & I don't recall installing ISA---how would I
| verify that?
|
| We have one nic installed and a Linksys BEFXS41 firewall router in front
of
| the server. Actually the branch office also has a Linksys BEFXS41
installed.
| However this freez-up has occurred from users home offices as well.
|
| We don't have a public pfdn---we use the IP address.
|
| Port 4125 is and has been opened on both firewalls.
|
| Thanks.
