Oh well, looking at a new SBS system now with no APC software, and the UPS
on the USB port, those other options don't appear in the Windows applet. In
fact it doesn't seem to have support for USB, since the only choices for
connection are COM1,2,3.
Hmmm ... With Windows 2000 and later, the UPS should be autoconfigured
as a Human Interface Device:

You might try searching the knowledgebase at www.apc.com to see if you
need to do anything special with your UPS model so that Windows will
recognize the USB connection.
Also, be sure you are using the USB cable provided with the UPS. APC
likes to "adjust" things so you need to use their own special cables.
