I did this on the SBS 2003 Server, but it still does not add ASP.net as a
user. What next???

Thanks for your help.

If the account is missing, you can add it back at the command line:.
%systemroot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_regiis.exe /i

How do I go about doing that? ASP.NET is not set as a user in the domain. Do
I need to add it to the Domain and then grant the rights?

Did you try following the instructions provided in that error message,
and grant permission to the ASP.NET account on your video server?

Not sure I understand what this means: If you add network to the

The program is a web server on another system within my local domain. It is
on an XP system, but the IIS is on my SBS 2003 system. When I set the
\\videoserver\inetpub\wwwroot\videoinsight is when the error message comes
up. Theoretically it all works as long as I use the URL Forward in IIS, I can
see the cameras from my other systems even when using the external address,
however this does not work externally because of the IP address being local.
All I want to do is have IIS open the web page on the other system. Oh, and
yes it is a .net application.

May also need to add IUSER and I?? (Whatever the otherone is??)
Is this Dot Net Nuke or Community Server that you are trying to setup or
another
application that is failing the intial setup?
The other part of this would be to do pass through with basic firewall to an
external IP address. I personally would be somewhat uncomfortable hosting
a .Net application publicly on an SBS 2003 standard box and would prefer SBS
Premium for this. But again this depends on the application.

Can anyone tell me what the following message is all about? I am
trying to set up a web site that is on another of my internal systems.
I can get it to work using an internal IP address, but this will not
work publicly. This is the error that is generated when I set the pat
for the internal system in IIS:
Server Error in '/' Application.

exception occurred during the execution of the current web request.
Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and

Exception Details: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the
path "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\Temporary ASP.NET
Files\root\928ef48f\fec0b679" is denied.
ASP.NET is not authorized to access the requested resource. Consider
granting access rights to the resource to the ASP.NET request
identity. ASP.NET has a base process identity (typically
{MACHINE}\ASPNET on IIS 5 or Network Service on IIS 6) that is used if
the application is not impersonating. If the application is
impersonating via <identity impersonate="true"/>, the identity will be
the anonymous user (typically IUSR_MACHINENAME) or the authenticated
request user.
To grant ASP.NET write access to a file, right-click the file in
Explorer, choose "Properties" and select the Security tab. Click "Add"
to add the appropriate user or group. Highlight the ASP.NET account,
and check the boxes for the desired access.
