ntbackup can do bare metal.

And it certainly will restore.

Is your are running SBS sp1 or any sp1 server, this program ( OBDR), will NOT restore your backup.

This Not the fault of Yosemite, but more to do with SP1.

The fix is very long winded if you need to do a restore after a problem. See their web site.
error code 1523


If you have a backup, you should immediately download "drmgr.ini" and follow the instructions included.

I hope this saves a lot of headaches! lol
