Re: SBS Client logon slow, once more

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Martin,

Are there any users/workstations that don't have a slow login time?

Also, is there any change you've got stations connected via CAT 3 (4
pair or less) cabling?

I encountered a setup like this... Dell workstations with XP Pro,
Gigabit Ethernet, and a Fast E switch but CAT3 cables. They had logon
speed issues even without roaming profiles.

Yeah, double check that, along with the negotiated ethernet speed
(10/100/1000Mbps) if in fact your stations use Auto-neg.

Hello everybody,
may I ask you to help me, too? I experience the same slow logon problems
with my SBS when using server based profiles. But my configuration is a
little different from the other postings I have found:

2 network adapters, one for lan and one for wan. the internet is connected
to a seperate subnet containing only the server and the DSL router, a zyxel
prestige650.

these are my addresses:
192.168.69.1 lan NIC of server
192.168.0.1 wan NIC of server
192.168.0.254 DSL router

I would be glad if someone could have a glimpse at my ipconfigs:

Thank you for your help!
