Hi,
The prior advise is all excellent. If you are still determined to
uninstall Exchange (your original question), simply put Disk 1 in (or the
DVD) and run the installation program (I forget what it is called on the
splash screen). It will look like you are installing SBS for the first
time but will go quickly to a menu that you can put in Maintenance mode
and uninstall Exchange.

If you think installing patches and security updates is expensive, try not
installing them...

This is apparently your first experience with SBS by the questions you
are asking. Don't take offence to my first statement......asking
questions is one way you learn and that's one things you will do if you
spend much time here in this newsgroup. Learning from folks who have
"been there" is a good resource to have. Along with Cris and Kevin's
suggestions I would also advise giving yourself some time to "look under
the hood" of the operating system and see how it functions as a complete
install before you decide to remove parts and pieces. You may discover
after some time that you will be glad you did.

Just my 2 cents worth.

hello everyone,

we just purchased a sbs 2003 server, and i'm having trouble finding
resources on the internet to manage the server. i am attempting to
secure the server because the default installation is open. how do i
safely remove exchange 2003 to get rid of the shares and services
because exchange doesn't show up in add/remove programs. i found the
article:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/833396/?FR=1

that says to use the registry. i would rather use the setup program so
i don't mess up the iis install and the server.

thank you for your help.
