Re: CompanyWeb Slow to Load

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I was able to extend the partition from 20 GB to 40 GB.

It's not just my first CompanyWeb of the day, either; it is more like every
new Internet Explorer window.

Thanks,

In my opinion 2GB of Ram is not near enough running SBS Premium especially
if
your running ISA Server.....4+ GB is what it is going to take to get you
the
performance your looking for. Also, I would advise running that on a Dual
Processor Server, thats just my opinion but you'll find that is what will
give you performance in a multi-user environment. ALet's face it, a Single
processor can only do so much. If your interested in visiting more about
it
send me an e-mail and I will send you my Phone number and discusss it in
detail should you be interested. You also mentioned you didn't have enough
drive space to Defrag, realize that as your drive gets closer to full,
your
going to notice degradation in performance also. It seems like your
looking
in the right direction to me and like I say, send me an e-mail if your
interested in visiting more about it. Have a Great Day!!!

I think I'll take a look at de-fragging. I tried that, but then found I
had
not enough disk space on the partition, then had both of the mirror
drives
fail. All that resolved now, I forgot that I was going to de-frag in the
first place.

Been reading in the SBS book how to best partition drives also. Certain
files need de-fragging more often, some never, etc.

Will take a look at this first.

By the way, I have 2 GB of RAM on the SBS box. What would be a typical
usage of this? I mean, I often see that a large percentage of the System
Memory is in use, when the system isn't do all that much. How much
System
Memory should I expect to be available?

I have SBS Premium with CRM 3.0 running. Only a couple users. Exchange,
etc. Nothing heavy.

When was the last time you Defragged your Drive? It certainly makes a
difference as well as the amount of System Memory you have and your
Internet
Conenection. There are lots of Variables that may have your system
slowed
down some. Also do you have or have you added any new applications that
may
be running in the background? I hope this may help you find your
problem.

Good Luck!!!

I'm noticing that the CompanyWeb page (and all(?) other Web sites,
too)
are
slow to load initially. Just that few second delay that breaks your
train
of thought.

Any obvious things I should check?
