Re: Using RWW with Vista Client

Only if you plan to authenticate with that local account. Otherwise,
no.

Since you've allowed "any version of Remote Desktop", you should have
what you need to connect remotely over 3389. If you still can't, verify
the Windows firewall settings on Vista and try to connect locally using
the Vista's IP address instead of its name. That'll help you nail down
where the problem is.

I already had the settings as you specified, and the option Cris refers to is
for remote assistance as opposed to remote desktop. The only user I have
access allowed for is my own domain account "user@xxxxxxxxxx" which has
domain administrative rights. Do I need to add my account as a local user as
well?

Navigate to:
System dialog -> Remote -> Remote Desktop -> "Allow connections from
computers running any version of Remote Desktop".

Don't forget to click on 'select users'.

Yes RWW will worth with Vista
The key here is on Vista you have to tell Remote Desktop to use "earlier" versions...
My Vista machine is currently disconnected from my domain as I'm doing that "special media test" or I'd give you the exact step by step

I connected a Vista client to my SBS domain without a problem. However, when
I try to use RWW to connect to the Vista client, I am unable to. Remote
Desktop and Remote Assistance are both selected and I am able to connect to
my other XP desktops. Ideas?
