RE: CAL packs language question

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Hi Thomas,

Thank you for posting in SBS newsgroup.

From the description, I understand that you want to know if you can add
French CAL to English SBS 2003. If I have misunderstood your concerns,
please do not hesitate to let me know.

Basically CALs are not restricted by languages. However this should be a
licensing issue, so you should contact your local Licensing Office or
retailer.

For licensing questions, I recommend you call 1-800-426-9400 (select option
4), Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (PST) to speak directly
to a Microsoft licensing specialist.

Worldwide customers can use the Guide to Worldwide Microsoft Licensing
Sites http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/index/worldwide.asp to find
contact information in their locations.

| Hi,
|
| Can I add CAL bought from a French reseller to an US SBS2003 setup? The
| product descriptions usually say something like "Windows SBS2003 5 device
CAL
| FR", which makes me think licenses are valid for a given region.
|
| Any thoughts? I'd rather be sure before coming into trouble...
|
| Thanks,
| Thomas
