Re: Virtual Server on SBS2003 Prem

Hi kj
I was not familiar with constrained delegation so i did not opt for it. I
selected all the defaults i was presented with. For some reason it now
works fairly consistent except when I use TS to remote into the host machine
from a remote location. The other annoying thing I get is that it always
asks me for my Username and Password everytime i refresh the Web Console or
go from the Admin page to the individual Virtual machine pages and back.
Any ideas?
Thanks
TR

Haven't tried it on those OS's yet Steve, and honestly don't plan to.
From the VS2005 R2 Release notes;
----
On the Configure Components page, either accept the default Website port
value of 1024, or type a new value for the port.
----
From the VS2005 R2 help file, "Securing Virtual Server";
-----
Using VMRC behind a firewall
If you are using the VMRC client behind a firewall, you must open several
ports:
a.. Port 5900, which is the default port for the VMRC server
b.. Port 1024, which is the default port for the Administration Website
----
But none of this is really any help to the OP.
OP, when you installed did you opt for "contrained delegation". If you did
you should follow the documentation on configuring contrained delegation.
If you selected this without understanding what this means in Virtual
Server, you might want to uninstall and re-install taking all the
defaults.

I think it depends upon the options you choose at install. Every instance
on every OS I've installed was the default 1024.
2005, Beta1, R2 beta, R2 RTM, and R2 Beta1, all default to 1024.
XP x64 and Vista x64 default to 80.
I'll be experimenting with it on x64 server OSs within the next week or
two.
