Wierd. I have a new sbs2003 install and if I telnet to localhost
port 80, and type hhh and hit enter it returns a HTTP/1.1 400 Bad
Request error (Like it should). If I telnet to port 80 of the
"broken" sbs server, it connects but then dumps me. I can't do
anything.
If I http to localhost, companyweb or anything I get Cannot Find
server (even if I use 127.0.0.1) ..
this is what leads me to believe something on IIS is broke. The
server has been up about 170 days, for kicks I'm going to reboot it
later tonight. I've gone thru the iis settings on the "broken" server
and compared them with a working server and it all looks the same.
I'm at a loss, hehe
we should start off with the basics---- Only 1 NIC
1. How many nics
2. What are they connected to?---- Netgear Gigabit Switch
3. run "ipconfig /all" on server and post results here---- Hostname: talonsrv1

4. Is this a brand new install..or been working and now acting up?---- Not a brand new install. Server has been in place since
November, they just now want to utilize it. I can't say for sure that
it was working, I want to say yes, but I don't know.

I have a wierd problem. IIS seems broke on my SBS 2003 machine?
Whenever I try to HTTP to http://localhost it immediatly returns a
page error.
I've done some testing, and from what I can tell, the service or
something is messed up? If I telnet to port 80 of localhost, and
start to type, it blows me out and gives me two underlines ( __ ) on
the screen. I've tested this to other SBS 2003 servers that I have
deployed, and when I telnet to port 80 and type, then hit enter, it
gives me a bad request (Like it's supposed).
Any suggestions? I hate to have to reinstall IIS (Since this is
SBS). As a side note, NONE of the sites work (OWA, Sharepoint etc).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
